Shaniya Simmons serves as the Director of Diversity, Inclusion, Community, and Equality at The People's Theatre. She recently graduated from Winthrop University with a B.A in Theatre Performance and a minor in Political Science. 

Shaniya has been performing for eight years, in addition to gaining knowledge in diversity and inclusion training at her alma mater. Through these combined experiences, Shaniya plans to make a career out of being an intentional and diversity oriented performer and arts leader, and she is honored and excited to work with The People's Theater to achieve these goals while also impacting the community through theater.
